🏖️ August is vacation month, which means you’ll find many shops and restaurants closed for weeks at a time. Likewise, there aren’t as many events. But don’t fret if you’re in town this month — there’s still plenty to do!
Monday, 7 August
Monday writing workshop, at Look.Sharp Cafe, 10h30-12h30
The meeting's format will be 90 minutes of writing, followed by 30 minutes of feedback. While it is free to attend, they ask no outside food or drinks, and that you order at least one item from the bar.
Porto Pianofest, at World of Wine, starts 17h30
Started in 2016, this piano festival brings international and local talent to unique locations around the city. There two guided Atkinson Museum tour and concert ticket combinations for 15€ or you can choose to just buy a 5€ ticket for the performance (Sheena Hui or Ann DuHamel).
Fado concert, at Casa da Guitarra, 18h-19h
A female vocalist will be accompanied by a guitarist playing a viola de fado for this iconic fado performance. Includes a glass of reserve port. Tickets start at 18€.
Wine in the park, at Casa São Roque, 18h-19h30

From music to gastronomy, arts and crafts, this festival celebrates Portugal and the joy of being Portuguese. Each of WOW's museums will be featured for a day and special programming will take place inside, such as children's activities, tastings, and music. Daily ticket prices are 20€ or tickets for the entire festival are 45€.
Art gallery tour and tile workshop, at Praça de Carlos Alberto, 14h-16h30
A tour starting with Porto's vibrant art scene (in an old shopping mall in Cedofeita Street, Miguel Bombarda Street, and Galeria Municipal). The tour ends in Jardins do Palácio de Cristal with a tile workshop. All materials are provided, and tiles will be available for pick up after 5 business days, or sent by mail for an additional price. Cost is 20€ and registration is required.
