You’re in for a lighter-than-usual events list this week, but the activities we highlight are very cool and worth your time nonetheless. Have a fun week, everyone!

Monday, 3 July

Portuguese cooking class, at Pop Up Workshops, 17h-20h
Chef Hugo Araújo will be teaching how to make contemporary Portuguese food (in Portuguese). Everything you need for the class is provided. The cost is 45€ and registration is required.

Crimes and mysteries walking tour, at Praça de Carlos Alberto, 19h-21h
Start this walking tour with a mysterious poison (welcome drink) and then embark on an adventure through the city, filled with tales of murderers, executions, and haunted hotels. Tickets are 35€ and reservation are required.

"Nem a Ponta do Mindinho" comedy, at Teatro Sá da Bandeira, starts 21h
After the success of their NOS Alive performance last July, Inês and Raquel wrote and will star in this performance (in Portuguese). Tickets start at 8€.

Tuesday, 4 July

Running club, meet-up location varies, starts at 19h
Runners and walkers of all fitness levels meet weekly to exercise and socialize. Free to join. Email Warren for details and run location. The group also meets on Saturdays.

Wednesday, 5 July

Pub quiz, at A Fábrica da Picaria, 20h-22h30
This brewpub has been hosting quizzes for 4 years. Come and test your knowledge, engage in thrilling trivia battles, and raise a glass to good times with friends old and new. Free to attend, free beer for winners, free beer for losers.

Thursday, 6 July

Jazz Thursdays, at Mirajazz, 18h-20h
Celebrate summer in Porto with live jazz on the terrace, along with drinks, snacks, and a fantastic view.

"Penis monologues" play, at Teatro Sá da Bandeira, starts 21h
Ricardo Castro and Ricardo Carriço together on stage in a satirical comedy from the male perspective that reveals “what men really say about women.” Tickets start at 12€ and the show is in Portuguese.

Friday, 7 July

Porto Walking City Tour, at Porto, 10h-13h
History, architectural wonders, and vibrant culture. This tour begins in the heart of the historic center and continues through narrow cobbled streets, lined with ancient buildings decorated with rich facades. Costs 20€ and includes a glass of port (or tea/coffee) with a pastel de nata. Book by phone 913 437 085 or via email to find out the exact meetup location.

Georgian wine tasting, at theLAB Porto, 19h-20h30
Shota Natroshvili, a talented young winemaker from Georgia, will personally guide you through a selection of wines from the country. Discover the secrets of the Qvevri winemaking method, a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, which involves fermenting and aging wine in clay vessels buried underground. Costs 35€ and requires prepayment.

Saturday, 8 July

Feira da Vandoma weekly flea market, at Av. 25 de Abril, 9h-18h
Find antiques, clothes, furniture, toys, books, and who knows what else at this weekly flea market. Free to attend. Since the market is outside, it is dependent on good weather.

Foodie intro to Cedofeita's cultural scene, at Banco de Materiais, 11h-14h
Did you move to Porto in the past year and want to get to know the area of Cedofeita better? The west of Porto is a vibrant neighborhood with lots of hidden gems. In this 3-hour tour, you’ll dive into the local art scene and visit a ghost mall. Save your spot for 35€ (includes 3 snacks and a drink; max group size 6).

Dancing picnic, at Parque de São Roque, starts 12h
The first day of this 2-day party in the park has a little bit of everything for everyone. Enjoy food and music, Angolan singer Bonga and Cassete, cover songs from the 80s, and a DJ set of the project Dear 80s. Free to attend, and visitors are invited to bring their own basket and picnic towel.

LGBTI+ march, at Praça da República, starts 15h
This march begins at Praça da República and heads to a location that will soon be revealed. At the end of the march, you’re invited to celebrate inclusion in the 3rd edition of the "Arraial + Proud of Porto." Free to attend.

Jazz in the park, at Parque de Serralves, 17h-20h
Susana Santos Silva and João Lencastre’s Communion 3 will both be performing at various locations throughout Serralves. Costs 10€ for all of the day’s concerts.

Sunday, 9 July

Shamir Corrida Portucale run, at Convento de Corpus Christi, starts 9h
The event offers a 10-km race or a 5 km/mini race along the banks of the Douro River. Costs 15€ for the 10K and 9€ for the 5K.

Weekly artisan market, at Jardim do Passeio Alegre, 9h-18h
Mercado da Alegria is a weekly opportunity to view and buy the work of dozens of local artisans and sellers. Free to attend. Since the market is outside, it is dependent on good weather.

250th anniversary of Nicolau Nasoni's death, at Igreja dos Clérigos, starts 12h
Clérigos was built by Nicolau Nasoni, an Italian architect and painter. This event combines architecture, gastronomy, and music. Torre dos Clérigos and pizzaiolo Antonio Mezzero will offer the city of Porto a giant pizza, measuring seven meters in diameter, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the death of Nicolau Nasoni. Free to attend.

Dancing picnic, at Parque de São Roque, starts 12h
The second day of this 2-day party in the park has a little bit of everything for everyone. Enjoy food and music, Rio rapper Capicua, Nel Monteiro, a samba circle, and the performance of DJ Miguel. Free to attend, and visitors are invited to bring their own basket and picnic towel.

Food and dancing, at Jardins do Palácio de Cristal, starts 16h
In another edition of this food and music event, DJ Carioca warms up the crowd at 16h, and at 18h30 the roda de samba begins. Ticketsstart at 12€.

Contemporary Portuguese cooking class, at Pop Up Workshops, 16h30-19h30

Cinema surpresa film screening, at OKNa cultural center, starts 18h
This is a weekly movie screening series where you do not know what you are going to see until you walk in the door. Programmed to include a thought-provoking range of films (presented in original language with English subtitles), tickets are 3€ or free to OKNa members. Reservations are required.
